Precisely! Gun owners have been ratted out.

Wasn’t there a law suit concerning the state collecting this info. If I remember correctly the state AG testified that they will keep the info secure and have processes in place to prevent unauthorized access or mistaken release of the records. The court bought the assurances and dismissed the suit, but now, with the Bruen decision recently released by the USSC and the AG declaring that he will fight the decision and find work-arounds, the names of license holders are “accidently released”. Not credible. This was purposeful and should result in a major, class action, suit against the AG. Unfortunately that will not protect those who have now been doxxed from being targeted by anti-gun activist.

With all the firearms and ammo purchased in last 10 years, you’d think bad guys would assume most middle class homes are armed...course, in Cali it’s a bit harder to get CC

Criminals have no problem getting a gun.

That’s not interesting to them.

The fact that the other homes do not have a gun... that’s much more interesting

Anyone losing a gun from here on in a residential burglary should consider suing the State on the theory that the State provided the information the burglar used to target the home.

I’m hoping you are correct. It appears that the AG used his official position to retaliate against legal gun owners because he didn’t like the Gruen decision. It’s pure malice and it should result in a criminal prosecution against the AG and massive civil suit against the State of California and personally against the AG.

Just think if a gun owner gets his gun stolen in California and didn’t realize it. Later on the gun is used to kill someone and left at the scene and they trace it back to the gun owner accusing him of the crime.

You’d be surprised at the number of homes without a firearm in their possession. A lot of the guns are owned by interested individuals of the firearms. If one is good why not 6. Some people collect bottle caps. Others AR-15’s. To each his own. I personally do not collect bottle caps.

They never had a thing on me all the decades I lived there. Never registered a thing and never told them squat. Private sales were legal back when.

I live in a state that has no registration, conceal carry permits, background checks for private purchase, and no background checks for the purchase of ammo.

Plus, we have Constitutional Carry.

Happened in NY years ago.

Let’s the criminals know who isn’t armed.

Regarding the doxxing... well, that’s a foolish game to play.

Circa 1991, I went to a yard sale in the Santa Ynez Valley, above Santa Barbara.

It was not set up yet, but soon a guy pulled up and started unloading every type of firearm imaginable, new, in the original box. He was setting them up on a picnic table, on the benches and on the table itself.

Semi-automatic rifles, including what the media calls an AK-47, plus many makes and models of handguns, new in the box. My eyes were wide as saucers.

I didn’t have much money back in those days so I couldn’t afford to buy any of them, and I’ve been kicking myself ever since.

In California, an “unauthorized release” referred to sex as in rape. Today it is a way of illegally intimidating lawful gun-owners.

“So now criminals know where to get a gun”

OR

So now criminals know which homes are not easy targets.
