Ex-FBI Directors Comey and McCabe Under IRS Audit From Trump Boss!

Are the dominoes starting to fall in place?

Former FBI Director James Comey along with his deputy Andrew McCabe were both recently audited by the IRS.

The audits raised several eyebrows due to the fact the current IRS commissioner Charles Rettig was nominated by President Trump

Many people believe Comey and McCabe were targeted by the IRS however the IRS has denied these claims and has stated that the audits were completely random and that 1 of 30,000 Americans each year get audited.

The audit of Comey began in 2019 and McCabes started in 2021 and as of right now no dirt has been found on the two FBI officials.

Former FBI Director James Comey and his deputy Andrew McCabe were both targeted with audits by Trump’s IRS after they investigated him.

A former IRS commissioner said the audits were so rare that it’s like lightning striking twice in the same place. https://t.co/6qKERIyf67

The Washington Examiner broke the story:

Two former top FBI officials were selected to undergo rare and intensive IRS audits. Former FBI Director James Comey and Andrew McCabe, who served as acting director for several months after Comey was fired, were picked to have their 2017 and 2019 tax returns examined, respectively, the New York Times revealed on Wednesday. The IRS says the audits are random, but the fact that two high-level FBI officials reviled by former President Donald Trump were selected led to questions about the program.

Comey and his wife, Patrice, were found to have overpaid their 2017 federal income taxes and received a $347 refund, per the report. McCabe told the publication that he and his wife, Jill, ended up paying the federal government a small amount of money they owed and said he believes the audit has been concluded. The Comeys paid roughly $5,000 in accountant fees and gave the IRS financial documents as well as a Christmas card to show they had children claimed as dependents, the report noted.

The report explores the question of whether there was any selective targeting involved in a program the IRS says is random, noting that the IRS commissioner, Charles Rettig, is a Trump appointee and that Trump has been heavily critical of both FBI veterans. The odds of being targeted by the IRS, the report noted as an example, was roughly 1 in 30,000 among the 153 million 2017 individual tax returns filed. The report claimed that neither Comey nor McCabe knew the other had been audited until told by a reporter for the news outlet.

“Commissioner Rettig is not involved in individual audits or taxpayer cases; those are handled by career civil servants,” the IRS said in a statement. “As I.R.S. commissioner, he has never been in contact with the White House — in either administration — on I.R.S. enforcement or individual taxpayer matters. He has been committed to running the I.R.S. in an impartial, unbiased manner from top to bottom.”

The current IRS boss is a Trump appointee…

The far left is calling for Rettig to get fired:

IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig needs to be criminally investigated by DOJ and imprisoned for life if that scumbag was coordinating with Trump to target political enemies! @YourAnonNews @YourAnonOne Defend the people. https://t.co/AVRNQA7NKC

Biden needs to fire Trump's appointee & still current IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig. Also, the DOJ should investigate Rettig's boss former Treasury Secretary whiny Steven Mnuchin b/c Trump obviously illegally forced the IRS to investigate his political enemies Comey & McCabe. https://t.co/0KvFxqvPzZ

The Hill dropped these details:

The IRS conducted purportedly random, intensive audits of two former top FBI officials who drew the ire of former President Trump, The New York Times reported on Wednesday.

The Times published letters received by former FBI Director James Comey and Andrew McCabe, his deputy who became acting director after Trump fired Comey, indicating the IRS was conducting National Research Program audits of their 2017 and 2019 tax returns, respectively.

“We must examine randomly-selected tax returns to better understand tax compliance and improve the fairness of the tax system,” both letters state.

Trump has repeatedly criticized both men for their roles in investigating Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election both during and after their time at the bureau.

The Times reported that the odds of being selected for the specific audit were tiny, with the IRS having targeted about 1 in every 30,600 tax returns for the intensive scrutiny in 2017.

“Maybe it’s a coincidence or maybe somebody misused the IRS to get at a political enemy,” Comey told the Times. “Given the role Trump wants to continue to play in our country, we should know the answer to that question.”

Considering that these true insurrectionists didn’t face any jail time for their crimes, this is nothing.

"The Comeys...gave the IRS...a Christmas card to show they had children claimed as dependents"

WTH? CHRISTMAS CARDS prove you have dependent children? I'll have to remember that one weird trick for the next tax year.

The same commies in an uproar over this(Even though it was done NINE MONTHS after Trump left office) have ZERO issue with the Trump investigation in New York and Georgia all for political reasons

Years ago, I was audited at the State level. They challenged my dependents and charitable deductions. I challenged them... "so, this is a Catholic audit, then?"

I went to the meeting with my whole family in tow and with a stack of documents. They said they would go through the documents and get back to me as they pulled them across the desk. I told them they could not keep my originals. They are welcome to make copies... I'll wait... with my family in this small office... while you make your copies.

I never did hear back...

Indeed.

If the left didn’t have double standards, it wouldn’t have any standards at all!

Tax Evasion Takes Down Capone

Tax Evasion Takes Down Capone Law enforcement officials realized that they could use Willebrandt's method to go after any number of gangland figures, including, or maybe especially, Capone. In the end, that's what took him down when the Federal Treasury got him sentenced to jail for 11 years for tax evasion. He also had to repay hundreds of thousands of dollars in unpaid taxes.

Jailed, at first, in Atlanta, he ended up being transferred to the infamous island dungeon of Alcatraz. The reason being that in Atlanta, Capone had been able to manipulate, con and bribe his way to a luxurious and privileged lifestyle. Alcatraz was an entirely different experience and, according to his warden there, Capone eventually admitted, "It looks like Alcatraz has got me licked."

Capone was released in 1939, but by that time he was a vastly diminished figure, having been debilitated by syphilis for years, a condition he'd contracted decades earlier. It would kill him in 1947, after a long decline at his Palm Island mansion in Florida.

My great uncle, and the black sheep of my family, was Elmer “Bones” Remmer, a notorious San Francisco mobster. After running the Cal-Neva casino for the mob in the 20s and 30s, he and his cohorts basically took over the small town of Menlo Park, California, opening (legal) gambling establishments there.

He was eventually brought down, like Capone, on tax evasion charges. During his trial, someone tried to bribe a member of the jury to return a verdict of acquittal. The judge and prosecution investigated, interrogating jurors before they had returned a verdict, but kept defense counsel in the dark. As a result, after multiple appeals, the Supreme Court reversed his conviction.

https://supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/350/377/

But, by the time that happened, he had lost the confidence of the mob. He worked for a time as a car salesman for his brother, my Grandfather, William Remmer, who had a dealership in Oakland, before he died more or less penniless.

I first learned of his relationship to me when my mother died, and I discovered clippings about him in her effects. She had never spoken of him.

It is the weakest of weak ID. What about birth certificates of your kids? The address of their residence on driver’s licenses? So many honest forms of ID and they choose a Christmas card? Try showing a Christmas card at the next government office you visit.
