You know, it could have been an argument that led to a fast draw, e.g. both yelling “I’ll kill you and both scrambling for their guns. In the old days it was a simple matter of getting it out of the holster standing toe to toe but the Reverend probably had to get it out of his brief case and maybe it got far enough that the 23 year old was yelling for the Rev. to put it down, he didn’t and it is a clear cut case of self defense. Just saying.
