How many species depend on mosquitoes for their sustenance? And how many other species depend on those species for their sustenance? We could be precipitating a monumental environmental disaster. (Probably not as bad as all the birds killed by windmills.)
Here’s a thought. Polio first appeared in Sweeden in the early twentieth century. As time went on it moved through the developing countries and then jumped the Atlantic to hit America’s big cities. Millions died. Millions more were crippled.
Turns out that Sweden, a socialist country, mandated sewage systems and indoor toilets. This got raw feces off the streets. A good thing, right? Polio followed the introduction of clean water and sewage disposal systems around the world by twenty years...one generation. Turns out humanity had been daily exposed to Polio for probably millions of years. Nobody ever got it. It was only when the first generation who had NOT been exposed to raw sewage got exposed to it for the first time that it devastated the world. How could something so basic as good sanitation and clean water be such a bad thing for humanity. Okay, same with the mosquitoes. We have no idea what may eventuate from this. But, how could what they’re doing possibly be bad.
Next up, a “solution” to “global warming.” Can’t wait.
