They are white. Spain is in Europe. Many many hispanics in the new world have never intermarried with the native indian people of central and south America. Trust liberals to be clueless on this.
It’s true that Spaniards generally regard themselves as white. Many are thrown off when they come to the USA and they are lumped in with the “Hispanic” pigeonhole.

What they’re revealing is their own racism. I have witnessed this myself: they are determined to refuse whiteness to Hispanics tout court. It’s not so much a liberal phenomenon as it is a Protestant phenomenon. Of course liberalism and Protestantism are pretty much the same thing.
