I stand in awe. your economic ignorance is truly astonishing. Think of the following quote from Adrian Rogers “The government can’t give anything to anyone that it does not first take from someone else. For every person who receives without working someone else works without receiving.” So the “benefit” of giving money to a bunch of college graduates who had the poor judgment to major in something that has little to no value or who are just too lazy to become gainfully employed MUST be paid for by plundering the fruits of the labor of those hard working Americans (taxpayers) who did make good life choices. I have the utmost contempt for your opinion.

Actually there are govt. fire depts. police parks etc or the alternative would be to privatize.
The problem here is that with a student loan, think who we are talking about and keep in mind, repayments are all income driven. The more you make, the more you pay. I’d rather pay an extra $500 or $1000 a year in added taxes than $500 each month in student loans. People don’t care how it affects others, it’s all about me, Damnit!
I agree with everything you said and yet you only make the argument when it comes to handing money to lazy AMERICANS and not when it comes to handing money to a corrupt foreign government (Ukraine). THAT is my problem with this. The outright hypocrisy. The budget, economy and ideology concerns only seem to apply when the money is going to Americans and the blinders go on when it goes to foreigners.
