Oregon, even Portland, was really nice back when. I was born in Portland in 1955 and moved to Arizona in 1985. Every time I’d go back to visit, the place had gotten worse. Now that I no longer have close relatives living there, I haven’t even set foot in the state since maybe 2005. Nobody there I want to see.
I lied. We went to Oregon for the eclipse in 2017, but stayed east of the Cascades.
I bet the effect is centered on post apocalyptic Portland.
Once the port of Portland was shut down in 2015 because it was too small for the current container ships, it was inevitable that this day would come.
