I don’t have problems with 0-0 games, if they are well played. In baseball, such games are called pitchers’ duels. In football, defensive struggles. Maybe soccer is an equivalent, I dunno.
Anything soccer has to offer, hockey has at three times the speed and 10 times the toughness, Even WITH all that gear, hockey players STILL lose their teeth. I used to watch the Triple Crown Line on the LA Kings hockey team (Dionne, Simmer, Taylor) and the athleticism and grace was stunning. The same team had no defense to speak of, so poor goalie Rogie Vachon would get 40 shots on goal quite often. That’s exciting even if all of them get blocked, there’s real action even with no scoring. But I don’t know of 40 shots on goal in soccer ever happening.
A pitchers' duel is a rarity, a shutout even more so. A 0-0 tie in kickball is very common.
