Warning: SPOILERS for Star Trek: Prodigy Season 1, Episode 16 - "Preludes"Admiral Edward Jellico (Ronny Cox) is generally hated, but in Star Trek: Prodigy, Jellico also happens to be right. Jellico is currently overseeing Vice Admiral Kathryn Janeway's (Kate Mulgrew) mission to find Captain Chakotay (Robert Beltran) and the USS Protostar in the Delta Quadrant. Jellico ordered Janeway not to enter the Romulan Neutral Zone to chase after the Protostar. It may be an unpopular decision, but Jellico is making the right call by forbidding Janeway to take action.

I think that would be cool to offer a prize that offers a provable faster ship. It doesn’t even have to be warp capable. Just something that can fly 25,000/mph, then 30,000mph, then 40,000mph. You get the idea of what I’m saying, I’m sure.

Admiral Sir John Jellicoe, ending in “e”, “The only man who could lose the war in an afternoon”

In the 90’s, I met Jellico’s alter ego Ronny Cox, in Nashville, shortly after that episode aired. Very nice, personable guy.

If I’m not mistaken there’s already a Tesla that’s currently making more than 40,000mph

I don't get it. The Klingons were cartoonish e--vil and everyone loved to hate them so much they they became good guys. Meanwhile the Romulans, who were enemies but honorable, are still the bad guys.

It's not fair!

If we’re honest TOS was woke for its day. Roddenberry used it to express his opinions on social and foreign policy issues.

I liked Jellico.

A good scene was when he told Troi to take of her ridiculous outfit and put a real Starfleet uniform on.

The look on her face..

What do you think of the idea of offering an annual prize for the person/company that advances warp drive technology

You mean all the money spent on global warming?

#3 Picard was always doing the wrong thing.
He did not wipe out the Borg when he could have. Costing billions of lives. Oops...

He had the tech downloaded on a tricoder for instantaneous travel thru a portal gateway but had it destroyed by Worf who then took Data and used the portal to get back to the Enterprise.

He revealed to the Romulans that Star Fleet had a ship that could cloak like a Romulan Warbird because it was not fair or something. Millions to die later.

He blew up an ancient starship of a lost civilization instead of sending a unmanned ship in to retrieve it after hardly exploring it after he got the Enterprise caught in the trap the other ship was caught in. He was embarrassed.

Data rescues a group of 20th century survivors from freeze now thaw you later as their ship was breaking down. Picard told Data that this was the wrong time and besides they were dead already so what did it matter. He later forced them to take another ship the long way home adding months to their journey to Earth because he thought they would learn something or other.

He let everyone die on a planet that he could have been rescued and scolded Worf’s brother for rescuing some.

He was going to let another planet full of aliens die but Data made contact with a little female alien and persuaded Picard to fix the volcanic eruptions.

Picard rescues Wesley Crusher / Wil Wheaton ....!

Jellico was rightly condemned!
Nerds in every star system have condemned him.
