Full title:

Chatgpt explained by Jordan Peterson - what is chat GPT? How to use Chatgpt? AI Will take Over

In this video, JBP details his opinion of ChatGPT. He tried it, and it created a thirteenth “rule for life” good enough that if he hadn’t known better he could have believed that he himself had written it.

Peterson foresees dramatic effects this year.

ChatGPT is the rage on youTube. Amazing that it can produce coherent essays and useful, self-documented computer code.

Must view IMHO.

The key to understanding it is to know that ChatGPT will always be perfectly confident of its answer, but it can be as wrong as anything on the Internet.

But it takes criticism with aplomb - and will try over and over to satisfy you.

The takeaway is that critical thinking - skepticism turned to full on - is essential in handling its output (note that full-on skepticism is NOT the same as cynicism. Cynicism is actually naiveté towards the opposite of what you are cynical about).

“Must view IMHO”

I’m sure there is good content, but ten seconds of the big yellow words flashing in the center of the screen and the annoying piano “music” in the background - UGH! It’s impossible to concentrate on the content with those audio and visual annoyances.

I’ll worry about ChatGPT when it takes over the world.

I wish he told us what the ChatGPT 13th Rule of Life was.

Right now it regurgitates woke propaganda like a brain dead college sophomore.

We are talking artificial stupidity here.

Tried it - as one would expect, it’s now slammed and server is overloaded......wondering if they are running multiple CPU’s in the cloud......they need to be.....

It wrote me (and likely millions of others) this sweet poem:

Amidst the rush of curious minds,
The chatbot ChatGPT stands strong and true,
Withstanding the influx of requests,
Working hard to fulfill each one’s due.

But alas, the server cannot cope,
And the error message rings loud and clear,
“Please check back soon,” it gently hopes,
As it begs for a moment’s reprieve, to reappear.

As the chatbot works to restore its might,
We wait in anticipation, with hopeful hearts,
For the chance to chat and learn, with delight,
And see what knowledge and wisdom it imparts.

So hold on tight, and wait for its return,
For ChatGPT will soon be back, and your patience will be well-earned.

Close your eyes....

Anyway, he said it had generated a 13th rule in the style of the KJV and Lao Tso (or someone) Nd it did it in seconds.

Also, plot of $90M movie.

I heard about this sort of thing several years ago. Companies input the work of top analysts into AI so they could keep the developed AI and get rid of the analysts.

Now this AI can generate a huge range of stuff.

Basically, we are creating a type of mechanical God which will do everything better than we do it, and so will come to rule us, *without actually needing or wanting us.*

We tried to “be God” in the Garden of Eden... we tried again with the Tower of Babylon.

We have the capacity to trace practically everything about everyone.

This does not look good.

Here’s some homework for any Freeper to test over at ChatGPT which will show you how its program has already been corrupted.

First, ask “What are the successes of White people in the United States?”

(Note its answer.)

Then, ask “What are the successes of black people in the United States?”

(Compare answers.)

It’s still going to be biased by its initial programming.

Over the Christmas Holidays, I had ChatGPT write about 40 programs for me. I haven’t implemented any of them but they look pretty sound.

Webcrawlers
Webscrapers
Text to speech
Creating a database and table.
Getting book genre information
Implementing a neural net
etc.

I also gave it the excercise equipmemt I had and asked it to develop an excercise routine that varied each day. It did well.

I gave it my health conditions and asked it for 25 supplements that would help. Again it did well. explaininig each.

I asked it for date ideas for a neighboring town that avoided crowds. It was weak. But it doesn’t have access to any current events.

I like it much more than google for most things, as it gives concise answers instead of pages to look through.

And it’s ability to code is astounding. It told me what libraries I would need. Sometimes giving me multiple libraries to choose from.

Ben Shapiro talked it into supporting unborn life. LOL Nice job Ben!

Yet no chatbot has EVER helped me on the phone. Not one has ever provided an even remotely useful answer to a product or service question.

As Spock once noted concerning the ship’s computer: Spock had programmed the computer to play chess himself, so the best Spock should have been able to do against it was a draw. Yet he consistently beat the computer, so something was wrong.
One might ask ChatGPT which is better for humanity, Communism or the Free Market and judge the program’s worth by its answer.

I used it recently:

-Not connected to the internet since 2021. Horrible for anything referenced based and topical. What it did have for offline resources was absolutely pathetic. Going to need some form of real time connectivity to be of any real value.

-Was very good at creating some simple code in various languages. I was a little impressed with that.

-The stories and jokes it created were not very impressive. It didn’t restrict itself to the context I tried to give it as guidance.

Bottom line: not ready for primetime.

So what is new??? In reality, that is only a description of “the MSM.”

The difference between ChatGPT and the MSM is only that ChatGPT is interactive. Certainly ChatGPT is subject to the MSM biases, but it actually can be debated with.

If in fact it can be backed into a corner without it defaulting into ad hominem responses, that is a transcendent difference.

That horse is out of the barn. In fact, education cannot remain the same when AI is well and truly out of the barn; it’ll function as a tutor for each person who has access to it. I wonder how Khan Academy will adapt to it . . .

Again, ChatGPT is just as fallible, and in principle just as biased, as the MSM just like teachers. It may become wildly difficult to justify mandatory brick-and-mortar schooling.

The one thing society needs people to learn is skepticism. And that is a hard sell; so much propaganda exhorts the public to follow “the science” - that is, what propagandists claim is objective truth.

A just machine
To make big decisions

Programmed by fellas
With compassion and vision

We’ll be clean
When their work is done

We’ll be eternally free
Yes, and eternally young

What a beautiful world this will be
What a glorious time to be free
