This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Small arms, ATGMs, MANPADS, loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles, trailers and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it is not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

“Who is Germany’s New Defense Minister, Boris Pistorius?”

“Germany is expected to decide later this week whether it will supply Ukraine with Leopard battle tanks, an issue that has been a red line for Scholz. Pistorius has not participated in ongoing discussions about the matter, however his tough stance on domestic security matters suggests that he might be willing to pursue a more aggressive military policy against Russia than his predecessor did. “

A “Sting” is being conducted by civilian Ukrainian women by created accounts on Tinder and contacting Russian soldiers in Ukraine. They then get information from them and even real time cell phone data that Ukraine intelligence is using to fire on them and their positions. Russian officers have been confiscating their soldiers phones which has gotten the Moscow Babushkas furious, who are now demanding the Defense ministry give their sons their cell phones back so they can talk to them and ensure they’re alive!

-—> Ukraine Situation Report: Kyiv Says It Has No Defense Against Russia’s Kh-22 Missiles <——
Russia’s horrific Kh-22 missile attack on a Dnipro apartment complex highlights the need for better air defense systems, Ukraine says.
https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/ukraine-situation-report-kyiv-says-it-has-no-defense-against-russias-kh-22-missiles

Excerpts:
... what Ukraine claims to be a major vulnerability in its ever-evolving air defense capabilities. Ukraine’s Air Force says that it cannot destroy Russia’s Soviet-era Kh-22 [AS-4 Kitchen] supersonic cruise missiles. That’s another reason, they said, why Ukraine needs more advanced air defense systems like the Patriot PAC-3 and the Aster SAMP/T ...

... it accelerates to Mach 3 - nearly 2,300 mph - before approaching its target. In its terminal phase, the missile dives at a steep angle and attains a maximum speed of over Mach 4 - more than 3,000 mph. Primarily an anti-ship missile, the Kh-22 was originally developed as a so-called aircraft carrier killer with a secondary capability against high-priority static area targets on land ...

Even the most up-to-date air defense systems that we have - for example the S-300 that works in that region - cannot shoot down the Kh-22 missile.

All told, the Russians have fired about 210 of those missiles since Feb. 24, with none being destroyed by Ukrainian air defenses. Previous reports about Ukrainian air defense shooting them down, he added, were erroneous. Some of them, he said, simply missed their targets and were listed as destroyed ...

The timetable for the SAMP/T - a battery which RID said has to be cobbled together from existing French and Italian stocks - is unknown. It will take months for the Patriots to arrive in Ukraine and have trained crews. The first Ukrainian troops arrived in the U.S. on Sunday for training on the Patriot.

And even if both systems are delivered and operational, they are no panacea

-—> Meet The Tanks And Other Armor The U.K. Is Sending To Ukraine <——
Challenger 2 tanks, Bulldog APCs, and AS-90 self-propelled howitzers will bolster Ukraine’s mechanized capabilities with more modern assets.
https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/meet-the-tanks-and-other-armor-the-u-k-is-sending-to-ukraine

Excerpts:
Per Defense Secretary Wallace’s statement today, the entire batch of aid will include the following:
Around 14 Challenger 2 tanks together with armored recovery and repair vehicles (equivalent to one British Army armored squadron).

A battery of eight AS-90s self-propelled howitzers, with plans already to send two additional batteries worth of these mobile guns in the near future (Ukraine is expected to receive 30 in total).

Hundreds of other armored vehicles, including an unspecified number of FV432 Mk 3 Bulldogs.

A maneuver support package “that includes minefield breaching and bridging capabilities.”

Dozens of uncrewed aerial systems, specifically “to support Ukrainian artillery.”

100,000 unspecified artillery rounds.

Hundreds of “sophisticated missiles,” which will include 227mm Guided Multiple Launch System (GMLRS) rockets that can be fired from M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) and variants and derivatives of the M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS), Starstreak surface-to-air missiles, and examples of an unknown type of “medium range air defense missile.”

A support package with spares for tanks and infantry fighting vehicles already in Ukrainian service.

Challenger 2 main battle tanks
The Challenger 2s that Ukrainian forces are set to receive are the most significant component of this new aid package, but it’s not immediately clear how they will be configured. At present, the British Army has around 227 Challenger 2s, in total, 148 of which it plans to upgrade to a Challenger 3 standard that you can read more about here. The plan has long been to divest the remaining 79 tanks, which is very likely the pool that the ones for Ukraine will come from ...

Challenger 2 is notably very heavy, even by the standards of Western main battle tanks, weighing close to 74 tons in its basic configuration and has a maximum speed on the road of around 37 miles per hour. In the Theater Entry Standard (TES) configuration, its weight grows to nearly 83 tons and its top speed drops down to just under 35 miles per hour.

FV432 Mk 3 Bulldog armored personnel carriers
Unlike with the Challenger 2s, U.K. Defense Secretary Wallace specifically mentioned the Bulldog configuration of the FV432. The FV432 is part of the FV430 family, the initial production of which for the British Army began in 1962, and these vehicles are roughly analogous to the American M113 and its subvariants. The core vehicle weighs just under 17 tons and has a top speed on improved roads of just under 32 and a half miles per hour. The armored personnel carrier version has a basic armament of a single 7.62x51mm machine gun on top.

The Bulldog, also known as the FV432 Mk 3, is a substantial upgrade over the original design that was developed in response to British Army combat experiences in Afghanistan and Iraq in the early 2000s. This variant, the first of which entered service in 2006, has a new engine and drive train improvements that give it increased speed and better cross-country mobility, as well as an air-conditioning system (something perhaps more critical for operations in desert locales than Ukraine at present).

... the current models of the AS-90 have a computerized fire control system and power-assisted loading equipment. This all increases the speed with which the howitzer can be aimed and fired, or realigned from one target to another. The AS-90 has a sustained fire rate of two rounds per minute, but can manage six rounds a minute for three minutes or fire off a three-round burst in 10 seconds, if required, according to the British Army website.

The stated maximum effective range of the AS-90’s main gun is just over 15 miles with standard ammunition types. The howitzer can strike targets even further away using rocket-assisted projectiles.

-—> Russia Has Built Its First Production Batch Of Poseidon Nuclear Torpedoes: Report <——
The Poseidon ultra long-range nuclear-powered, nuclear warhead-equipped torpedo is one of Russia’s so-called ‘super weapons.’
https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/russia-has-built-its-first-production-batch-of-poseidon-nuclear-torpedoes-report

Excerpts:
A report in the Russian media claims that the first production examples of the country’s Poseidon nuclear-powered, nuclear-tipped, ultra-long-endurance torpedoes have been built. These will initially be provided to the Russian Navy’s shadowy Project 09852 Belgorod, the world’s longest submarine - but, at this stage, it’s unclear if the torpedoes actually have their nuclear warheads fitted.

According to Russia’s state-run TASS news agency, “the first batch of Poseidon ammunition [also known as the 2M39 Status-6] has been manufactured” for the Belgorod and will be delivered “soon.” Citing “a source close to the Russian military and defense industry,” the same report says that trials have already been completed of various components related to the Poseidon torpedo, including its nuclear powerplant ...

TASS also notes that it has no official confirmation of this information from the Russian Ministry of Defense, but it’s very notable that the report does not mention nuclear warheads for the Poseidon and refers to the torpedoes as “nuclear-capable,” suggesting this first batch - the actual number of torpedoes has not been disclosed - may even be unarmed. For now, at least.

However, the initial report in the Russian media has since been picked up by other outlets, with this crucial nuance having been overlooked ...

Perhaps most concerning is its apparent ability to cruise around the oceans for extremely long periods, before unleashing a surprise attack. In this way, the Poseidon is not only hard to detect but also difficult to defend against, providing a strategic nuclear option that avoids existing missile defense systems, for example. At the same time, it would potentially give a ‘second strike’ capability that’s even more assured than submarine-launched ballistic missiles, should one of Russia’s enemies try to paralyze its strategic nuclear forces in a first-strike scenario.

••Day 327.

Today a series of explosions were reported in southern Ukraine.

The Russian-appointed Head of Crimea said that Russian air defense was activated along the entire western shore. As it turned out, the Ukrainians have launched swarms of kamikaze drones to target Russian bases.

And after the Russians removed their aircraft from the airfields in Kherson due to constant HIMARS strikes, Russian airfields in Crimea have plenty of targets.

The Ukrainians are hunting down Russian aviation for two reasons: firstly, to decrease the number of airstrikes on the front line, where they usually use fighter jets and helicopters, and, secondly, to decrease the number of bombers that are used to launch missiles and target Ukrainian critical infrastructure.

And in order to achieve this goal, the Ukrainians launched two waves of drone attacks. The first wave of attacks was launched at 6 am. What is interesting, the trajectory was rather sophisticated, which indicates that the Ukrainians have already created a very elaborate map of Russian air defense systems.

Previously, the trajectory was rather linear, and almost all drones were sent directly to Sevastopol and Saky. However, it looks like the Russians adjusted and concentrated their air defense on the most western part of the peninsula.

In order to avoid it, the Ukrainians sent their drones between Kherson and Crimea and then adjusted their trajectory and moved towards Sevastopol. This way, the Russians shoot down significantly fewer objects, increasing the chances of hitting the targets.

In order to increase their chances even more, the second wave is used. The second swarm of drones was launched at 7 am. The drones followed the same route with certain corrections.

Using the same route ensures that the drones pass by the air defense that is already empty after trying to shoot down the first wave of drones. And this proved to be extremely successful.

If the first wave did not manage to cross the peninsula at all, then the second wave managed to get extremely close to the Saky airfield, Belbel airfield, and the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol. In this attack, the Ukrainians reportedly used Mugin-5 drones that could bombard the target with explosives.

Unlike Bayraktar, Mugin-5 cannot carry rockets, but it still has a notable carrying capacity of 25 kg, which can inflict severe damage to the aircraft stationed on the airfield. And when it comes to the airfields in Crimea, the number of potential targets there is expected to increase.

Due to the constant artillery duels that are taking place in Kherson, Ukrainian Intelligence noted that the Russians made a decision to decrease the concentration of their aircraft even more.

Shortly after that, satellite footage showed that the number of helicopters in Berdyansk had increased, and, on top of that, the Russians were rapidly working on equipping the airfield, likely in preparation for more frequent use.

Even though Berdyansk is not in Crimea, it is one of the very few Russian airfields in the south that are out of reach of HIMARS. That is why the utilization of Crimean bases is inevitable.

Nonetheless, this time the drones were reportedly shot down in the vicinity of the Russian bases, and none of them hit any valuable targets.

However, it looks like the goal of this strike was a bit different. Russian analysts are warning that the Ukrainians have likely used these cheap commercial, poorly equipped drones for evaluation of the situation.

Once they identify the most current positions of air defense systems, they will be able to determine even less protected areas and launch the more dangerous drones. That is why the intensity of strikes in Crimea is expected to increase.

The Ukrainians have already checked the western shore, so now they also need to check the eastern shore and the mainland.

Given that the number of mobile air defense systems is finite, there is a limited number of combinations that the Russians can use around their military objects, so weak spots are inevitable. On top of that, sending a swarm of drones can confuse air defense operators or simply overload the system.

Topography adds an additional layer of complexity because these drones can dynamically adjust their altitude, which allows them to stay closer to the ground and avoid detection for longer.

Overall, the Ukrainians managed to develop a precise map of Russian air defense systems, and they developed sophisticated trajectories that allow even the cheapest drones to reach Russian bases.

Successful destruction of Russian aviation will decrease the air threat, as the Russians may be forced to move to Krasnodar, for example, and increasing the distance gives the Ukrainians more time to respond to and eliminate the air threat.
