Unpatriotic Youth
Highly Respected ^ | April 3, 2023 | Scott Greer

A new poll shows patriotism in dramatic decline. The WSJ-NORC poll found that only 38 percent say patriotism is very important (down from 70 percent in 1998 and 61 percent in 2019). It also found that 39 percent say religion is very important (down from 62 percent in 1998 and 48 percent in 2019),and 30 percent say having kids is very important (down from 59 percent in 1998 and 43 percent in 2019). The number of Americans saying community involvement is very important has plummeted from 62 percent to 27 percent in just four years. The only thing more Americans are saying is very important is money, which rose to 43 percent from the 2019 figure of 41 percent.

Why are young Americans not proud of their country? The Wall Street Journal interviewed a variety of people to see what they think. Some gave interesting answers.

It’s easy to dismiss left-wing commentators going down the path of anti-patriotism. But it is a major problem if it’s shared by a large percentage of young Americans.

The youth are the future. How to reach them is the major challenge for the Right. There won’t be much of a future if our next generation of leaders looks like the kids who stormed the Texas capitol.

Republicans reduced america from a nation to a simple economic zone and has had endless wars around the planet. Dems push nothing but anti-white and anti-Christian propaganda and put rainbow flags on everything.

Patriotism for too many men has been replaced by idiotic “loyalty” to sports franchises of the multi-billion dollar NBA, NFL, and MLB rackets.

The same pathetic fools who would be embarassed to cheer for the country or to stand for their flag will happily act like fools over some team of millionaires who work for billionaires.

And you can blame the public schools and the apathetic parents who let them kick God and Love of Country from the curriculum.

Given what they are taught by NEA teachers, Leftist professors, hip-hop artists, woke influencers, Hollyweird celebrities and assorted Gays, bi’s and trannies, is it any wonder MORE don’t hate the USA, their parents and themselves?

There is an ongoing, unrelenting war on our children right now.

As a teacher I was shocked when my students mocked D-Day—saying all the men who hit the beaches deserved to die. They were fools to throw their lives away. The whole attack was worthless. In a year we would have had the A-Bomb and could have blown up Berlin, killing Hitler and all—ending the war with one blow. No need to “Liberate Europe”. All those young Americans were just killed for nothing. Hindsight is 20-20.

Every jerk in ant stsdium that did not get up and walk out of the stadium then cancel espn immediately on seeing/witnessing the desecration of the anthem/flag is responsible for this

“Patriotism is supporting your country all of the time and your government when it deserves it’’.- Mark Twain.

This current government hasn’t done anything to be patriotic about.

This poll does not upset me at all. I would actually be worried if the numbers on patriotism and community and had not changed.

I just packed up all my cute red, white, and blue clothes and put them in the basement. I have not had any desire to wear them since the Trance Covidians came on the scene.

There is no reason to have much trust in our institutions or our fellow so-called Americans these days.

I am not so sure people answering this poll are themselves feeling less “patriotic” so much as thinking that the guy next door really does not have their or their country’s back. Therefore, there is nothing to be patriotic about if you think you are surrounded by people you can’t trust.

As for money being most important—well, it is pretty damn important when you are losing a bit every day due to inflation and each day you turn on your work computer, you wonder if you are going to get an email directing you to go to HR, with all your things, for your lay off notice.

Did they ever stop to consider how many more people would have died in concentration camps over the year that we were waiting on the bomb?

I’m unsure why anyone is surprised by this. Frankly, I’ve gotten to the point that if someone were to nuke Washington DC, the only thing I’d want to know is where to mail the “Thank You” card.

We are definitely at the end of the life of this Republic.

Cicero chronicled the corruption of Rome.

Rush I think was the modern day Cicero.

Both lives were too short but their voice of truth endures.

Patrick Henry said it best for me in human terms.

The Lords will be done.

Little sh*ts might think differently when Chinese soldiers are butt stroking their stupid mugs. By then it will be too late.
