The USD is safe, if only because there is no good replacement:
* The Yuan - Not traded freely and itself is tied to the dollar
* The Euro - Could collapse if more Brexits happen
* Gold - Not nearly enough of any metal to underpin the economy
* Crypto - Impossible to secure
No one in the world is going to write a high-value long-term contract in anything other than dollars.
the reason the USD was the world standard is because US policies were sane and stable...

I agree. I haven’t seen a lot of talk about it, but I think there is a real parallel. I would also say that, coming out of WWII, the world had two Superpowers (US and USSR) but other nations on the winning side (UK and France) were clearly still Great Powers, right? Everyone knew that they were powerful, right? And then the Suez Crisis happened in 1956 and France and the UK both teamed up and were humiliated by ... Egypt???? It became clear to everyone that they were not Great Powers any more.
I think we are right at that point.
I am more and more convinced other countries will destroy the current criminal U.S. government. As they destroy the American dollar, they pull the rug out from under the criminals running the USA.
We Americans deserve this destruction because we did not stand strong enough against this evil now fully in charge.
