I was just listening to a youtube about how depressed and anxious the wealthier nation’s people are. Several folks think that it is due to our dopamine levels getting quick fixes on pleasurable things (social media approval, good food, TV, booze, drugs, etc.).

BUT - the mind wants things to be on balance, so to bring our mind back into balance we get depressed, etc. to bring our dopamine levels down to a “normal” level. But - we just get a quick fix (social media, and I suppose jerking off), but it only leads to longer term depression.

These same folks say that a “dopamine fasting” where you stay away from the pleasurable things will help reset the balance and one won’t feel as depressed.

I imagine that the UN/New World Order would love to have most people depressed and unmotivated, hence the support of masturbation.

“We’ve taken care of everything
The words you read
The songs you sing
The pictures that give pleasure
To your eye
One for all and all for one
Work together
Common sons
Never need to wonder
How or why”

Thank-you for your insightful take. Yes, I believe it to be true. If our senses are kept completely satiated we’ll lose motivation, hence exist as slaves who do not recognize their slavery.

If the wealthier nations’ people are more depressed and anxious, it is likely because they have abandoned faith in God and neglected personal, family relationships. The very things that provide meaning to one’s life. With no hope of salvation and no stake in the future due to childlessness, what do they really have to live for?

+++++++++++

More lyrical prophesy by Neil Peart. Just like before the motor law in “Red Barchetta”

You obviously have good taste in music.
