Kids tell the parents these days. Parents complain about having to buy their kids $200 sneakers...but they still buy them.
I don’t even buy myself $200 sneakers.
I told my kids as they approached their teen years, that I would contribute enough towards their clothing for normal clothing. If they wanted something special or high fashion, they had to pay for it themselves. My obligation to feed and clothe them did not extend to stuff like $200 sneakers.
They were also on their own for video games, CDs, DVDs, and electronic devices, short a phone when they went to college.
