"Her ad before the last election was the most powerful political ad since Reagan’s “There is a bear loose”, and “It’s morning in America” ads.""Many saw her imprint all over the other most eye-opening ad of his of the cycle — a spot that posited in all but explicit terms the notion that the political ascent of Ron DeSantis has been divinely inspired. She tweeted it out. “Casey, I think, thinks they’re on a mission from God, or Ron is, in that he’s preordained for this,” a former gubernatorial staffer told me." -- Politico
Let's list just a handful of the "We're on a mission from God", wannabe First Ladies, that got chumped at the polls:
- Elizabeth Dole (classic hard-core ice queen who once gave a Elmer Gantry-style National Prayer Breakfast speech, they spent 10 years at Foundry United Methodist Church, but when Foundry went early-queer and the pastor criticized the Contract With American, they moved to National Presbyterian Church. Dole's loss and his being driven out of the Capitol left her power-mad enough to run for Senator)
- Tipper Gore (she and her married an effete scumbag were baptized born-again as adults, but yeah she was a Believer, forcing him away from Episcopalianism, and they ended up at Mt. Vernon in NoVa, a Southern Baptist-leaning yet congregationalist church, and his latent New Age agnosticism was a primary driver of their divorce. Plus his conversion to Clintonesque cheating.)
- Elizabeth Edwards (who most people don't know died before her divorce from John was complete, but yeah she was a conservative Methodist and a Believer, she once quoted Genesis on Bill Moyers (#MeToo) show)
- Ann Davies Romney (ffs, she's a Mormon, of course she believes Bishop Dullard was supposed to be divinely endorsed by whoever runs Planet Kolob)
- Karen Pence (not a bad person, how can an art teacher be a bad person, but her uber-Catholicism absolutely believes Shemp is on a divine mission)
Special mention:
- Elaine Chao (Miotch was on George W. Bush's short list of VP candidates in 2004, but he ended up recommending Quayle because (a) Miotch had bypass surgery in 2003; and (b), he had married a b@ll-buster who gave him the heart attack. They attend a big box hardcore Evangelical church in Louisville -- who knows what they do on Sunday in DC the other 50 weeks of the year)

Can you please explain your special mention category?
Mitch McConnell was on George W Bush’s short list for VP candidates in 2004? When Dick Cheney was vice-president at the time, and was Bush’s running mate in both 2000 and 2004? How does Dan Quayle enter into this?

The Pences converted to Evangelical Protestantism.
