Amphetamine is easy to synthesize, more so than most other compounds.
There shouldn’t be a shortage.
I won’t go into how I know.
” alternatives such as psychedelic mushrooms.”
hooooboy ...ya that’s gonna work ...
We chose to SPANK our kids, rather than drug them.
But I do understand that others prefer the other approach.
Ritalin or Adderall; which is better and/or is less destructive.
I was diagnosed at 43. I fought getting the drug for about a year or so. I finally tried it at the behest of my wife.
That stuff changed my life.
I got spanked plenty when I was a kid.
Here we go. The next crisis requiring more government intervention. First it was “opioids” which conveniently omitted illegal fentenal as the major problem, and who suffered from that “crisis”? A lot of people who had legitimate pain who have been left to suffer. Now we have an Adderall crisis. What a manufactured farce.
Speed kills.
The local high school chemistry teacher should be able to help....
;-)

Happy to hear that. Probably would help me too, but I suspect that your condition was significantly worse than mine.
My problem is with parents ‘educated’ by Dr. Spock who thought he knew more than 5000 years of human history regarding the raising of children.
We've been creating a nation of addicts under the guise of public health.
BTW, it used to be called Obetrol.
Obetrol was the brand name of a drug combining several amphetamine salts indicated for the treatment of exogenous obesity.
This is what a failed nation looks like.
I consider ADD and ADHD to be Gods Gift to humanity, they wanted to put me on it in the 60’s, well actually Ritalin. My parents said NO so they let me grade other classes papers instead
ADD is real. People with ADD have brains that are wired differently. It doesn’t make those individuals high or out of control. It allows their brains to slow down a bit so they can better focus on what they need to doing.
When ADD people find their career niche, they can be incredibly successful.
There is one thing you don’t want to do with an ADD person; and that is try bullshitting them. They will be so hyoer-focused on proving you are wrong, they just won’t let go of it. I did this with a VA doctor who lied to me last week, and he will regret it after I speak with the Assistant Chief Medical Officer tomorrow.
You are right. If someone has ADD, Adderall can be life-changing.
so sad for all the dirty druggy performance seeking speed freaks who are now itchy and jonesing...
like star doper athletes who get caught, return clean, and then suck
life’s a bitch!
I predict that the kids who were fed Adderall as children will have a competitive advantage over those who weren’t.
It’s basically legal meth. We had/have a serious problem with ADD/ADHD being way overdiagnosed, along with people treating it like Mentats. (See: https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Mentats_(Fallout_76) )
We are bombarded with calls from people asking for it. A lot of people have been on it since childhood, and are dependent.
Part of the reason for the shortage is the 5 million adults that were diagnosed between 2019 and 2022, not to mention the millions more kids diagnosed during that time. During the CoVID lockdown, there was an explosion of telemed doctors diagnosing ppl and providing prescriptions by phone without ever seeing the patient in person. By contrast, hubby and I were evaluated over multiple visits by licensed psychologists and even underwent computer-based testing to verify the diagnosis.
Trying to have our prescriptions filled has become a stressful occurrence because we don’t know which pharmacy will have it from day to day; we currently have prescriptions at 3 different pharmacies in 3 different cities. After a yr of this crap, I finally called my congressman’s office, Eli Crane, and his aide actually called me back to discuss the issue further, which impressed me. Hopefully, things will improve soon.
