I'll bet they will be shell-shocked when they return to the US and they will start dreaming of moving here.
It's another world out here; a peaceful, "Old School" world steeped in 3,000 years of history. And it is stunningly beautiful, raw place with endless beaches and beautiful, unspoiled countryside.
It's a shame you can't visit with your relatives. Airfare is what it is but once you get here food's very inexpensive and excellent and the wine is cheap and good. (~$4 for 1/2 gallon of good, potent table wine).
Wish I could chip in and help you get here. Maybe your relatives would be kind and generous enough to do that? If so, let me know and we'll meet up here.
Thanks, but I’m going to stay here. My wife’s cousin and husband were married here, but moved back to the Homeland and have no intention of leaving, they love it there too much. Like you said life is just better there.
My wife was there back in the ‘70s, and still talks about it.
