Mike Pence on Thursday made a surprise visit to Ukraine to impress the GOP voter base shortly after announcing his 2024 White House bid (try not to laugh).
The former vice president visited Ukraine to ‘set himself apart’ from other GOP presidential hopefuls, especially Trump.
“The war in Ukraine is not a territorial dispute. It’s a Russian invasion,” Pence told ABC News “This Week” co-anchor Jonathan Karl in March, staking out a position opposite from the two front-runners. “It’s just the latest instance of Russia attempting to redraw international lines by force, and the United States of America must continue at a quickened pace to provide the Ukrainian military the support that they need to repel the Russian invasion — and the stakes are that high.”
Mike Pence cheered Joe Biden’s decision to send Ukraine BILLIONS of dollars in taxpayer money.
“By giving the Ukrainian military the resources that we have … the West has really shown its strength,” Pence told “Meet the Press.”
Pence criticized Trump and Joe Biden.

Pence wants to give Ukraine more US taxpayer money.

“My former running mate, seeing war raging in Eastern Europe, is signaling an ambiguous message, not even able to say who he would prefer to see win the war in Ukraine,” Pence said. “The United States needs to stand by the courageous fighters in Ukraine, give them the resources more quickly than Joe Biden has, to take the fight to the Russians and repel this invasion.”
If he once was, he has literally sold his soul to the Republican establishment. He sold it cheap since he has absolute no chance of ever being the Republican party nominee or President

Did he take up arms with the Ukrainians? He’s desperate to get noticed. Most Trump supporters won’t consider him so how does he expect to get support? I think he’s running to attack Trump as his former VP on behalf of never again Trumpers like Paul Ryan.

As I remember, Trump criticized Obama for not sending aid and arms to Ukraine and Trump started the ramp up of support.

OMG, I was so wrong about Pence. Oh wait, no I wasn’t, he is still a scumbag.
Once upon a time, I thought Pence would be a good president after Trump.
But, after what Pence has done in the post-Trump-first-term, Pence has proven to be not so smart. If he has any kind of smarts, he’d realize that he’s got zero to no chance of winning the primaries, much less the presidency. But, he could stick around and hope for a job in Trump’s next term, like, in charge of grounds-keeping in the White House.
Who is paying for this and how much does Pence get to keep?
I don’t believe he is really allowed to do this...at least without permission of some kind.
Did he get one of those souvenir briefcases? I don’t think he is going to be much help to Ukraine since he has no power and hopefully they know he will never be President but maybe they think he will be an appointee in the next administration. That might qualify him for a briefcase.
