56% of US voters view DeSantis as 'unfavorable': poll
The Post Millennial ^ | Jun 28, 2023 | Thomas Stevenson

A Civiqs poll found that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' poll numbers have dropped to an all-time low among likely voters. In December he was registering at 46 percent favorability, but as of June, he is now hovering at 34 percent.

Among likely voters from the poll, in December there was a one-point difference between favorable and unfavorable responses, but that gap has grown to 22 in June.

The survey was taken by over 43,000 likely voters in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. Broken down by party, Democrats viewed him with a favorability rating of 3 percent, independents at 33 percent, and Republicans at 73 percent favorability.

Of the other candidates in the pack of several Republican primary nominees, former President Trump is the leader with many others, including DeSantis, running behind the former president as the likely nominee. According to 538, the latest polls calculated give Trump a favorability rating of 55.8 percent and an unfavourability rating of 39.9 percent.

The drop in DeSantis’ favorability comes shortly after his announced run, entering the race in May.

Despite the recent polls, DeSantis has said that he will “beat Biden handily in the swing states” compared to what Trump will be able to do in a general election.

After an NBC poll pointed out his drop in polls just a few days ago, DeSantis told NBC that, “at the end of the day, you know, this is a marathon, not a sprint.” He later said that the team is “doing everything we need to do in these early states” and has confidence going into the primary.

Earlier today, Trump posted an article on his Truth Social account that shows his favorability ratings have increased since his indictment, according to polls. The writeup claimed the increase in ratings is a “cry for justice” from the American people in response to the ongoing investigation.

Trump and DeSantis aside, candidates in the race for the Republican nomination are not even receiving 10 percent support, according to current poll averages from FiveThirtyEight.

We know the Dems are out to destroy Trump because he is the one who can defeat them (if there were a fair election and fair vote count, and I guess if all kids get to have a pony and teenage girls can have a singing career to match Taylor Swift’s).

But the Dems know there is only one——one——Donald Trump given to us by God.

They will go after most Republican nominees. Remember Newsom wanted to have DeSantis arrested.

This guy just isn’t up to snuff...

The more the public sees him, the lower he polls.

And honestly it’s not hard to see why.

It’s real easy to see why Trump had to pull him over the finish line 18, he just has no presence and is utterly inauthentic looking. His wife has more presence at the podium than he does.. watching him give a stump speech is painful, he truly is very poor at retail politicing.

His wife used to be a news analyst tv host so she has a great presence. Very pretty lady too.

Somehow this terrible politician won reelection by nearly 20% and over 1 million votes in Florida, won independents by 18% and the majority of Hispanics, he may not be Presidential material, somehow, he won two statewide elections in Florida, not bad for someone who is terrible.

I forgot to mention he got himself elected to the US congress multiple times before he was Governor.

They even went after Mitt Romney.

People forget.

Yes, Mitt Romney may be a left-wing darling today, but when he was running against Obama in 2012, Romney was cast as a right-wing troglodyte who would strap the family dog on top of a station wagon when on vacation. He was blasted for saying nearly half the country didn't pay taxes and for having "binders full of women."

The attacks on Mitt were merciless during that campaign.

People forget. This is how the Republican nominee will be treated in 2024, Trump or no Trump.

“ Still lower than Trump…”

Some people don’t want to deal w the fact that Trump got the 2020 with 80:20 and is looking at a 90:10 for 2024

But it is true.

Before you respond try one thing. Look at why not one person has stated as they did endlessly for the 2016 that Biden won the popular vote. He didn’t. Not by a very long shot

Now the same people are pushing DeSantis and he is not going to overcome the deficit he has Vs trump Theoretically he could but one has to ask what exactly ly would DeSantis be able to do to overcome that 40 pt steady consistent deficit. Nothing

Check out this poll about Trump’s unfavorable ratings.

Statistically they are the same as DeSantis. Surprisingly we don’t see that comparison posted on FR.

For a politician who is described as terrible who has no chance winning we get multiple posts daily to remind us of how terrible DeSantis really is.

Calling it a marathon is an admission they are falling behind. It’s ridiculously early but people are starting to make up their minds about those being pushed hard by the media. DeSantis is underperforming and even DeSantis people know it.
