Nobody on TV or in the news or on social media or in politics, is arguing correctly about inflation, either going up or going down.
The inflation rate coming down is IRRELEVANT. IOW, it’s not the issue. The inflation rate going down is divorced from what it did when IT WENT UP.
The inflation rate caused prices of everything to go up, including at the stores and at work.
When the prices went up because of the very high inflation rate, they stayed up when the inflation rate started coming down.
Inflation rate coming down, but, prices staying at the high levels that the high inflation caused.
Even if inflation comes down to ZERO, the prices of everything that wen up during inflation, will not be coming back to the prices that existed before inflation started going up. If a loaf of bread went up from $1.50 to $2.20 during high inflation, it will remain at $2.20 after the rate of inflation starts coming down. The damage from high inflation remains.
It’s the prices stupid! It’s not the rate of inflation that makes things less expensive. Prices stay up while the inflation rate may be coming down.
Arguing about the inflation rate coming down, is like arguing that a hurricane will not be causing more damage after it subsides, but the damage is something left behind and that people have to deal with. The hurricane going away does not eliminate the damage.

Like, Prices only come down when there is a negative inflation rate.
