Osama said that he would topple the US, that his attack on the Trade Towers would frighten and demoralize the US and cause our society to collapse. We responded by going into Afghanistan and erasing the Taliban. I don’t dispute this and I am not disparaging our soldiers who made the sacrifices they made. I am grateful to them and celebrate their fidelity and courage.
I also supported—loved actually— George W Bush, but it can’t be denied the the elaboration and expansion of surveillance and police apparatus should have been only temporary. There should have been a definitive sunset provision to set things back, otherwise ‘temporary’ is not in the DC population’s vocabulary. Permanent and vulnerable to subversion from above by bad actors...
Sure enough that bad actor came along in the person of B. Obama. All of W’s good intentions set the foundation for a police state. All Obama had to do was wait for W’s people to retire and replace them with his minions.
How does the old saying go? “The road to hell ...”
So yes, Obama is dead, but before he died he infected us with a fear that has metastasized.
‘Osama’ is dead. A Freudian slip I guess...
