And if that happens, in time the same kind of action will be taken against judges, police, and others who attempt to enforce it. We are not there yet but when the social contract is completely broken, anarchy will result. As you say, when it becomes anonymous there will be no way to attempt to enforce whatever a kangaroo court dictates. It will not be pretty. (This makes it clear why the left is so adamant about taking guns away from citizens).

Middle class, responsible people won’t allow themselves to be robbed and physically threatened without recourse. But neither would they countenance engaging in unprovoked retaliation or gang warfare or racially-motivated violence. There’s a market niche and a product development opportunity here for “principled vigilantism”.
