No way did he ever volunteer to participate in any way, shape, or form. He basically ignored the whole thing, like he was magically above it all. Except when he tweeted insults at everybody, like tweets are equal to congressional hearings, and congressional records on the subject. He could have presented his side, and made it harder for criminal charges to ever be filed, but he never even showed his face. It was a "no contest" plea, at best.
Most believe it was government agents that provoked the Capitol riot. Rasmussen polling found that 61% of voters think this.
The J6 Committee was a sham. Nobody watched it. It failed.
Geez, I’m glad you weren’t giving Trump legal advice. I hope you’re not actually a lawyer. You sound like Michael Cohen.
That's not how I remember it.
According to this article from The Washington Examiner, The New York Times reported that President Trump was open to testifying in front of the J6 committee, but only on the condition that they aired it live on TV for all Americans to see.
Trump was concerned that the committee would manipulate his testimony, essentially cherry-picking the parts that they wanted the way that they did in their ABC News-produced prime time committee hearings earlier in the year.
Oh, and he didn't "ignore the whole thing, like he was magically above it all," he claimed separation of powers and said that Congress had no authority to subpoena a President to appear before them. He claimed "Presidential immunity" from being compelled to speak before Congress for things that occurred while he was President.

It appears everyone except you recognized the J6 hearings/committee for the sham it was.
Trump was exactly correct to not participate which allowed the light to shine on it, and it alone, fully exposing the made for TV drama for exactly what it was.
Everyone but you sees that. That should tell you something by itself, yet here you are, continuing to embarrass and expose yourself, just like the J6 SHAM.
