I used to get American Stephen Hill mixed up with Scottish
Patrick Macnee from the show The Avengers.
They both had that formal, frank and no frills look.

Wow television so different back in the day…. Only three networks with the limited appeal of syndication as a not very viable alternative. You sold your show to the networks or …. Desilu had a lot of big hits. Heck I’m surprised Mannix had not inspired a movie - everything else has!

Okay, if my memory serves me correct Mannix and Mission Impossible were both on Sunday nights with Mannix just befor MI.

The worst part about that (from a guy’s point of view) was she always seemed so content and oblivious with her ‘chastity’. //
To: Rummyfan
Hill was only on M:I for one season. He was fired for being too disruptive on the set.

FYI Stephen Hill was an Othodox Jew who refused to work on The Sabbath which is one of the reasons he left MI. He eventually had eight children with his wife and of course went on to later fame on L&O.

Yes. It wasn't so much his own orthodxy; he kept wandering over to the other sets and started harassing the other Jewish actors to be more observant of the Sabbat - especially Shatner and Nimoy.

That I didn’t know re: Stephen Hill. Well, is was certainly a man of honor to turn lucrative work down in Hollywood while he was hot. Good that eventually, he was able to experience full flower success on L&O.

Ah, yes. I recall when my Dad was thinking of buying a first color TV. But all the ones we had seen so far at friends were mis-adjusted, usually too purplish, or having bizarre “curtains” of uneven color, or something like that. A number of shows we watched were still black and white. Should we spend the money?
But, then a salesman at a local appliance store let Dad bring home a new color tv, properly adjusted, to try out for a night. The first show we saw was something about nature, quickly going to a shot of a gorgeous butterfly that filled the screen.
Sale made. :-)

The Invaders was great and so was the outer limits.
Oddly enough, the same composer scored the first season of the Outer Limits, and The invaders pilot/1st episode. Invaders was a QM production, and Quinn Martin earned his hollywood creds at Desilu. So Lucy is responsible for more scifi in a way.

Just saw an episode last night...the one that featured Abraham Lincoln (can’t recall the title). Not all episodes were classics but many were.

My main reason for buying my first HD TV...and my 4K TV...were nature videos.National Geographic,BBC and others. On my 4K OLED set the giraffes featured in one of the BBC discs I have *absolutely* look like they're in my living room!
Add to that The Dark Knight,Lawrence of Arabia and other classic films and buying it was a no brainer.

I was surprised that Grace Lee Whitney appeared in only 8 episodes. She was a frequent guest at the Star Trek conventions.
Kirk preferred his yeomen to be a bit shapelier than Lucy though.
