Would murdering entire families be otherwise okay?
Lots of families died in Hamburg and Dresden and Tokyo, and were vaporized in Hiroshima and Nagasaki - was that OK?
What bothers me about all this is that people are talking like innocent little lambs who have never heard of war and who have no idea what it involves. Both parties to this conflict are unable to settle their affairs without recourse to the laws and usages of war.
Fine. They’re not unique, and they are certainly not alone in history. Stuff like this happens all the time.
From the perspective of the religious wars in Europe this hasn’t even been going on all this long.
