Eli Lilly plans diabetes drug trial for kids as young as 6 years - Bloomberg

I was watching Bloomberg’s Business Show this morning when a headline got my attention. Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk have begun clinical trials of their weight loss drugs Mounjaro and Ozempic on children as young as 6-years old. Certainly a small percentage of children might need these drugs but I can’t help feeling the vast majority of overweight children would be much better served by more physical exercise and a better diet and far less internet game playing and cell phone usage

Are they going to call it a vaccine? Because those are awesome.

Speaking about vaccines especially Covid vaccines, in the last 6 months three friends and family members who are all in their mid-80s and 90s have developed breast cancer which we are finding out is rare in people that old, the common denominator is all were fully vaccinated

We will probably never know what the actual reasons are for the side effects but I firmly believe the Covid vaccines are the reason

I’ve been seeing FB ads all of the sudden for vaccines again

Scroll through the comments and 100% of them are glowing endorsements of how glad they are they got their shot

They censor the ones who push back

I’ve deleted 3 of them in the last 2 days

“but I can’t help feeling the vast majority of overweight children would be much better served by more physical exercise and a better diet and far less internet game playing and cell phone usage“

Totally agree. I would refine it by noting my personal opinion that increased exercise is great but fat kids absolutely need to ditch the sugar, chips, French Fries and such. To put a kid on drugs without first trying hard to make these simple (and free) dietary changes seems massively wrong to me. But there’s money to be made and parental responsibility to be avoided….

It starts these kids on a life long dependency on drugs for health care without knowing the long term consequences, the problem of drug dependency has gone on for so long the parents are just as addicted as the children

These fat kids are not buying their own food and mobile phones and contributing to their families’ internet bills. It’s the parents.

It is a great quote, unfortunately the parents are often times just as addicted to drugs as their children, the parents move on from childhood drugs to antidepressants, anti anxiety and now legal marijuana and basically go thru life in a fog

You do realize that the vast majority of people that age are fully vaccinated, and therefore, nearly everyone who gets cancer at the age will have been fully vaccinated.

FYI: Breast cancer at that age is not all that rare. Between the years 2012 and 2016, nearly 20% of breast cancer cases occurred in people age 75+ and nearly 6% of cases occurred in people age 84+.

Yes I realize that I wasn’t asleep during Covid when we were continually told the elderly were the most susceptible and were generally vaccinated before anyone else

The 6% number for people over 75+ means 94% were under that age which is rare in my opinion
