3rd in line might as well be 3000th in line, since if the President dies, the VP becomes President and appoints a new VP, and if the VP dies, and the President is still alive, he just appoints a new VP.
Unless somehow both died at the same time, 3rd in line will always be 3rd in line.
The house has to approve, maybe even pick the VP? I could see the house, picking a Republican, if they had half a brain. Maybe Trump?
A new VP needs Congress’ approval.
It doesn’t have to be at the same time.
It would easily take a month to appoint and approve a VP if he was in the lest controversial.
With the current state of the Democratic Party, I can easily see confirming a VP taking two months.
Simple. Get rid of Herself first — resignation —THEN get rid of Buy-d-’em. Clean path. Might be (might be) a significant improvement.
