Elon, Israel already told you how they feel about it. I don’t think Musk can guarantee it won’t be used for nefarious reasons.
It should be easy to pinpoint those who use the service. If a baddie uses the service he should be easy to find and take out.
That sounds very clear. I am surprised that no one is currently using Starlink in Palestine, but good to hear that it will be checked before. I do not see what else could be asked or expected of Musk.
Musk watching is Fun.
Was thinking about getting Starlink to be less subject to providers cancelling or playing games, but Starlink seems no better or secure.
I guess turning off *everyone* in Gaza seems good - if you’re dumb or jaded - until someone does the same to the Jews, Jan 6 people, Hungary etc.
Watching the cam at the Gaza Hospital, I see people using cellphones.
Maybe MusK is really trying to help. OK, however, Musk is a doer. I believe the US or Israel may have asked him to help gather intelligence, such as location data, and/or counter ops like jamming known or newly discovered hamas com links.
Must is not an idiot and many freepers are taking this at face value. Take nothing about WWIII at face value. Always ask questions.
It will be used to look at videos of cats. What else does anyone do with an internet connection?
Musk is VERY naive, as he has proven again and again. He leaps before he looks, reposts sketchy or vile accounts after misunderstanding them or misreading intent, and then deletes his repost. Dozens of times. Brilliant engineer and innovator. Terrible at social cues and trust.
I can’t disagree with his suspicious views of having the U.S. Government poking around in his communications network. What could go wrong?
Every time one considers humanitarian help to someone like Humas one need only ask oneself if similar aid would have been given to Germany during WW2.
If the answer is no, then DONT.
