and the stats on surviving after an elderly person breaks a hip are astounding in that something like 60% won't survive over 6 months....
but it stands to reason...you get very old, sickly, frail, you body is not going to work much longer, and falling is just a sign of that....I know its a shock to many but we are all going to die at some point....
Yes,that’s part of the reason...but another factor is that the bones of older women are often more “delicate”...thanks,most likely,to osteoporosis.

My father was in an assisted living/nursing home for two years. Based upon multiple visits about 80 percent of the residents were women. Only about 1 in 10 of the men there were capable of carrying a conversation.
