I remember the Seattle of my childhood. My great-grandfather was a Danish immigrant brick mason who worked on many of the buildings in Tacoma and Seattle. My grandfather owned hundreds of acres at the foot of Mount Rainier and built two mountain cabins that I have such fond memories of. We had to sell that land because the environmental policies made it so it couldn’t be logged and managed, and junkies and crackheads kept breaking into the cabins and stealing everything they could find. I would love to see Seattle green and flourishing again like the Emerald City it once was. At some point, this will all tip and conservatives will flood back into these areas they have destroyed, repair them and make them beautiful and livable again.
Sigh. A ponygirl can dream…
