Anyone who would sell their gun in a border state while our government is under enemy occupation, needs their head examined. I understand the sentiment. But, suppose you have a dozen guns. One of them is an old shotgun with a broken hammer. Repairing the gun costs more than it is worth.
The government then offers to pay you $300 for the worthless gun.
Turning in the broken shotgun for $300 is a rational thing to do.

I sold a couple broken guns to the City of Baltimore at one of these scam events. Used the money to buy ammo. Like most.
