Kind of makes you wonder what was going on with the “completely intact” ones. Could be the result of a successful emergency landing. Could also be a defection. Or simply a case of bad memory (now....where did I park that car??).

Ok, an advanced race of creatures creat a craft that can transverse the vast distances of interstellar space, the craft appears to maneuver through liquid as well as air. The magnificently brilliant creatures then drive space craft across interstellar space covering light years of distance, reach earth and crash. Totally plausible!
