paula jones was allowed to sue clinton and he was forced to a deposition. That is the main precedent the court relied on. It also said that Trump had a zillion other defenses that were not before the appeals court at this time.

So there is precedent for allowing civil suits against a Democratic president for actions not in the line of duty. Clinton clearly wasn't.

The opinion also says that Trump has other ways of showing that his speech was in the line of duty as president (as opposed to as a candidate) that haven't been raised and decided yet.

That is the beauty of life..It can be changed in an instant...I remember the”” liberal journalists”” absolutely floored when Trump won in 2016....Sometimes,we have to go through the rough patch to get to the good stuff....
