This presents evidence that the president of Harvard University, Claudine Gay, plagiarized her dissertation!

Even more amazingly, her PhD is from Harvard, and she won a “best dissertation” prize there for it! And they hired her on the faculty and even made her president. And since she plagiarized from her advisor, it says there, someone at Harvard knew she did it, and they still graduated her, hired her and promoted her.

She very clearly labelled her source in the passage he’s referring to. This is a distraction, and it is unhelpful to lie about her when you’re trying to make her look worse than she already does.

Isn’t there software that can detect possible copied text and compare styles and syntax? Should be easy to prove plagiarism IMHO

How things work at the elite Harvard.

There is ample evidence that diversity hire, Claudine Gay, who
was promoted to president of Harvard, plagiarized her doctoral dissertation.

Even more amazingly, her PhD is actually from Harvard,
and Harvard awarded her a “best dissertation” prize for it!

Harvard then hired her on the faculty
and later made her Harvard’s first female president.

Astoundingly, she plagiarized from her own advisor. So someone at
Harvard knew she did it, they then graduated her, hired her and promoted her.

There is. Many colleges use one of three national systems with, perhaps, TurnItIn being the top dog. Every paper is submitted and a plagiarism score is given. The score is a percentage of phrases and passages that match other papers. The usual score is less than 25%, with many phrases being common. An excellent score is below 5%, but difficult to achieve as common words and phrases do match.

Ho, ho!
I’m the president of Harvard University.
I don’t have to think for myself. I just have to repeat whatever my masters tell me to — as though I thought of it all by myself!”

She, like the head of many liberal Unis, is a racist pig. How much were you paid to defend her?

This is a direct violation of Harvard's policy: "When you paraphrase, your task is to distill the source’s ideas in your own words. It’s not enough to change a few words here and there and leave the rest; instead, you must completely restate the ideas in the passage in your own words. If your own language is too close to the original, then you are plagiarizing, even if you do provide a citation."

Much of the sampled text was actually verbatim.

“She very clearly labelled her source in the passage he’s referring to. This is a distraction, and it is unhelpful to lie about her when you’re trying to make her look worse than she already does.”

It’s not exactly a lie since she did fail to put the passage in her own words as per the rules and she didn’t use quotes. Still IMO it’s a pretty weak case for dismissing a University President. Her position on antisemitism however, should be more than enough to get this incompetent moron fired.

“An excellent score is below 5%, but difficult to achieve as common words and phrases do match.”

I would imagine so—these days the world of universities has a lot of “politically correct” verbage repeated over and over in so many fields.

If you listen to leaders of major institutions they all sound like they are reading notes from each other—meaningless junk phrases.

Here is a January 2023 message from Google’s CEO (totally random selection by me with specific company references replace by X):

“Over the past two years we’ve seen periods of dramatic growth. To match and fuel that growth, we hired for a different economic reality than the one we face today.

I am confident about the huge opportunity in front of us thanks to the strength of our mission, the value of our products and services, and our early investments in AI. To fully capture it, we’ll need to make tough choices. So, we’ve undertaken a rigorous review across product areas and functions to ensure that our people and roles are aligned with our highest priorities as a company. The roles we’re eliminating reflect the outcome of that review. They cut across X, product areas, functions, levels and regions.

To the Xers who are leaving us: Thank you for working so hard to help people and businesses everywhere. Your contributions have been invaluable and we are grateful for them.”

Gobbledygook—garbage—lies—usual junk.

Plagiarized work is pretty much the last moral outrage left to modern academic.

Treason of high officials? Genocide and mass murder? Killing babies? NAH!

But steal somebody else’s IP; and it’s the guillotine buddy!
