Steve Bannon Thinks Trump Will Pick Female VP, Names Intriguing Options
Gateway Pundent ^ | George Upper

While supporters of former President Donald Trump may have been getting increasingly excited about the possibility of a certain former Fox News host being chosen as Trump’s running mate, but one man who has been very close to the former president’s political thinking in the past has a message for those folks:

Don’t get your hopes up.

Steve Bannon, who served as both the chief executive of Trump’s 2016 campaign and as a senior adviser to the president after the election told Sean Spicer on Thursday that he expected Trump to choose a woman as his potential vice president.

Well, he was first asked by Sean Spicer what he thought of Tucker, and then Sean asked him to name 10 women he thought would make good VP material.

So, the article heading is somewhat misleading, to be overly generous about the heading.

Tulsi Gabbert

is nothing more than an old school policy Democrat.

Not every Democratic politician is insane, but all that I can immediately recall are left of the sweet point of rational governing.

Big limb here-

female is clearly favored over male at this moment in time.

It may be too early for individual odds to mean anything-

but four of the top five are women and Vivek.

It was pointed out to me recently that yet another woman-Sarah Sanders is not only a good choice for VP but also successor.

The only males that come to my mind are Tucker Carlson and Ben Carson.

Agree...and don't think that will happen...

The women's vote is such a big piece of the pie because women can't get by abortion...even though only a tiny number of women opt for "MURDERING" their baby. Too bad they're one issue voters.

As the title suggests, this was a thread of "intriguing options."

Gabbert might not be my choice, but she would be an intriguing option for President Trump.

The sad thing about the article is that the names were all the usual suspects, with truly intriguing people, like Kari Lake, shoved into the last paragraph almost like a p.s.

In my mind, as intriguing as Lake might be, she has a big plus and a big minus: the minus is that she hasn't won any kind of election, either local or statewide. The plus is that she must be feared by the left because of how hard they tried to keep her from winning.

I do believe that Lake's time will come, but she can't be thrust right to the top; that's not fair to her.

So, who are the other "intriguiging options" that might fit a Trump ticket that sets up MAGA for the future?

“Gabbard resigned as DNC vice chair on February 28, 2016, to endorse Senator Bernie Sanders for the nomination for President of the United States. On that same day, she appeared on Meet the Press and discussed why she was stepping down. She was the first congresswoman to endorse Sanders, and later gave the nominating speech putting his name forward at the 2016 Democratic National Convention.”

I guess that’s true. But there are people who would take the fight to the deep state if given the opportunity. The biggest difference between them and Trump is that none of them could get elected and Trump can. Trump is the only one who could have built a coalition of conservatives, Blacks, Hispanics, working class, college educated, etc. That’s what makes him so dangerous.

A lot of people are missing a few key points.

In 2016, Trump needed the religious right/evangelical vote, so he picked a "safe bet" Christian candidate, to shore up that demographic (which was skeptical since he said the right things, but had no political background). Now that he's proven himself to Christians (got rid of Roe v Wade, followed-through on his promises, etc.), he doesn't need to worry about not getting their support.

The voters he needs to court the most, in my opinion, are:

1.) Women voters.
2.) Anti-COVID response voters

3.) People worried about his age/health.

Kristi Noem would help with all of these. She's a woman (some women voters think he's "anti-woman's issues" due to media propaganda and picking one could up the percentage of support), and a strong governor (experienced executive who could take over easily if Trump has a bad health issue), and a state leader who pushed back against COVID restrictions. Huckabee Sanders would probably be fine too, but she's only been governor for a short time.

Biggest complaint against Trump from the right is not being willing to atone for COVID mistakes. At least if he picks a strong Governor, he can assuage some of that criticism.

Kari Lake would be a good pick if she had actually become Governor. I don't see how she helps him right now, plus she's running for Senate.

Nancy Mace is a Rep. My gut says he goes with a Governor who was strong against COVID lockdowns.

Also, the media tried taking out Kristi Noem early with the fake story about her and Corey Lewandowski having an affair. It didn’t seem to land...

...ought to be because she’s the best person for the job ...

The job of the VP is to attend funerals for which the President does not want to go. That and breaking tie votes in the Senate.

It is not a good time to try this. No one stands out as perfect for the choice. We need the American equivalent of Thatcher and we don’t have it.

Elizabeth Warren had the sternness and the seriousness needed but not the charm. She was probably our best one so far.

Let’s not mess it up, just when women are starting to realize Trump is for them too. It would be a liability at this point.

I cannot believe they included Nancy Mace on that list. A full on pro abort dim bulb who ruined the Citadel and then didn’t serve. Trying to be the son dad never had. Voted to hold Bannon in contempt. Likes Liz Cheney, and of cheated on two husbands and left her kids behind.
And worst of all, her stupid performance at the National Prayer Breakfast.

Unreal. How that idiot is a Congressman mystifies me.
