I remember there was a bar of soap my grandmother would buy for our beach cabin. It had a distinct smell that reminded me of summer and sand and getting clean before riding my bike back to her house. As I got older I was never able to find that soap brand. Then I joined the Army and there it was. Plain black and white wrapping, “Soap Personal” or some such, with an NSN to it.
Sometimes when companies get the big, lucrative govt. contract they withdraw from private industry. Too much time and work to compete. Looks like US car makers are going that route.
