If Austin’s case of cancer is advanced enough to be causing him unexpected and severe pain, he must either had not been properly diagnosed before, or has not been seeking treatment.
I am just lowly Navy Veteran, with no public status at all, I get examined for lung and bladder cancer every year.
They tell you if anything has changed in any way.

His doctor called him with the results and said, “Well, the news is not good. Do you want the bad news or the worse news first?”
Bob said, “Oh no! You might as well give me the worst news first.”
The doctor said, “Bob, I am sorry to tell you that you have terminal cancer with less than a week to live.”
Bob was shocked and asked, “Well, if that is pretty awful! What else is there???”

Well, of course BIDEN would not have been told - no one tells him anything and if they do, he does’t remember. You guys really have to stop the “Biden this, Biden that” nonsense, he’s a piñata for you to take swings at but he makes no decisions and really isn’t very important.
The issue is, did Austin not tell the ACTUAL President because there is a shadow SECDEF who runs the Pentagon, so it not only doesn’t matter if Biden is out of the loop (which he obviously is), it also doesn’t matter if the powerless figurehead and errand boy Austin is out of the loop, because someone else is running the show.
Remember how many top Generals and Admirals Obama fired because he "lost confidence" in their leadership over th slightest infractions or perceived mistakes?
Now we have Biden who won't fire anybody who fails over and over in leadership.
