Here's the tell: this letter was written under some duress. To be fair, I will say as a Southerner that we waited far too long, and waited wrongly, to abolish slavery and racism generally. As a Jew, I am one of a people eliminated for hundreds of years from the guilds of Europe, and repeatedly expelled (six times from Paris!) And robbed.

I believe Jefferson was right when he sought to abolish slavery. I believe that all men are men, and that these United States, North and South, exhibited Jefferson's own cowardice, complicity, and hypocrisy. We as Jews are used to it; we rise fast and hard. Many blacks do, too, even in half a generation.

Let's raise ALL men and women to love math, engineering, invention, and capitalism. Let's let little black kids know that Jews and whites are not the "enemy," and that they, too, can rise to powerful positions at places like Xerox... If they have not yet been destroyed by vote grifters like today's Democrats.

Let's raise ALL men and women to love Republican ideals of Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity, and eschew the sort of racist hate and duplicity now, just as then, engendered by Democrats.
