While the “basement” accusation did carry weight with regards to Trump a few months ago, it was clearly obsolete by this point, and DeSantis shouldn’t have used it last night. Big deal. If sticking one’s foot in one’s mouth was disqualifying, Trump would have been disqualified years ago.
