What still amazes me is that Ukraine is (was) a first-world nation with functioning nuclear power plants and even, Chernobyl on its soil. Yet, we hear nothing about this. Cool heads must be prevailing to not have nuclear waste scattered across the countryside.

The Ukrainians and Russians can thank America’s Democrats, as Americans do. The price of Hunter Biden’s life is high.

I don’t know where you have been the last 2 years, there has been plenty of reporting here about Russian takeover of the Ukraine’s biggest nuclear power plant, dangers it would go hot, mistreatment of the plant operators, and concerns of the international nuclear regulatory experts, and dangers to the water cooling pool after Russia blew up the big dam holding back a deep lake of water for that use.

Of great importance were US efforts to reduce nuclear danger when the Soviet Union broke up late last century. We negotiated with Russia to have Ukraine return all their nuclear missiles to Russia, with a signed agreement that we and Russia would protect Ukraine from invasion. Russia/Putin’s faithful adherence to that agreement has been about as good as Hitler’s honoring of the old Hitler/Stalin pact to refrain from war for 10 years and divide Poland between Germany and the Soviet Union.
