In a tragic incident, a Russian military transport plane crashed near the Ukraine border. Conflicting reports mention 65 captured Ukrainian military onboard and, separately, cargo related to air defense systems.

Crap happens in a war.
The Ukrainians likely consider POWs as traitors. It’s probably better for them to die this way, versus what could be in store for them if they made it home.
Question: Could an enclosed NFL stadium hold 100k detainees? I’m wondering if any are designed near the border with that in mind. I’ve read of that happening at soccer stadiums around the world.
Wouldn’t need an expensive plane ride.
I’m skeptical about this story. POWs are generally not transported by aircraft, especially one also carrying critical military equipment. And, if this was shot down in the Belgorod region, that critical military equipment was either being removed FROM the war zone in Ukraine or the POWs were being returned TO the war zone in Ukraine. The article mentions “conflicting reports.”
It may just be Russian psy-ops. But we’ll see how this story develops.
The Ukrainians likely consider POWs as traitors.

Remember when the Ukies shelled an industrial building housing dozens of Ukie prisoners? Remember when the actor Steven Segal even filmed his visit to the site?
Just one look at non western video sites have recorded Ukies firing on their own soldiers surrendering, many, many geo located video showing these events….and of course the testimony of Ukie prisoners telling of Ukie Nazi Azov personnel placed behind the contact lines to shoot those retreating.
It is just a matter of time before a Ukie soldier puts a bullet into St Zelensky’s head.
“Remember when the Ukies shelled an industrial building housing dozens of Ukie prisoners?”
Yep, but I didn’t want to carry my Ukrainian-cheerleader type ‘conspiracy theory’ too far, so I didn’t bother to mention that. But yes, it’s certainly in the cards and at least as likely as the Russians ‘forgetting’ to notify NATO of the flight.
Not just the Russian parliament saying this either, Ukraine MPs are calling the Zelinski regime out over this.
Well, I guess those POWs won't be testifying about any Nazis or Criminals in Zelensky's Government or Military.
