Shatner from everything I have ever read was a pretty stand up guy who worked and still works very hard all of his life.
If I were him I would not have even considered trying to get money from this.
If some lawyer told me I should, I would say “Get thee behind me shyster”
Shatner understands that anything that keeps his name out there is good. No such thing as bad publicity.
