The Charlotte City Council recently voted to re-criminalize certain behaviors - namely public urination, defecation, and masturbation.
"While there is much work still to be done, we made an important first step putting ordinances back on the books tonight that address urination, defecation and masterbation [SIC] in public, among other things,” Charlotte City Council Member Tariq Bokari posted on X. “We will keep working to do more."
Bokari is also the member who, in the wake of the city’s deadly New Year’s Eve shootings, proposed creating a crime task force to combat rising crime rates.
The Council voted 7-3 on the matter. Voting against were Tiawana Brown, Renee Johnson, and Lawana Mayfield. Member Victoria Watlington was absent and therefore did not vote.

As a newcomer to NC two years ago I expected Asheville to be the hot-bed of liberalism but have been surprised as to how idiot leftist Raleigh and Charolette are as well.
Wife and I were driving through a particularly “diverse” part of town. All of a sudden she hollered “that man is playing with his thing!”

I wish the city of Louisville, KY would recriminalize panhandling but they will probably never put that genie back in the bottle.

Whoever voted to decriminalize these crimes should be exiled to Somalia.
That’s because like Asheville, the majority in those cities are not from North Carolina. I went to high school in Asheville in the mid to late 80s. Its really sad to see what it has become.....a colony of artsy fartsy leftist Northeastern trustafarians. Charlotte has a large Black population which votes Democrat reflexively. It also has a not small cohort of Leftist Yankees due to the banks.....though it also has some Leftugees from places like New York who want nothing to do with Leftism.
Raleigh is a big tech hub and also a large Black community who are reflexive Democrats.
