In the video, he seems to have the correct takedown grip and presses down the release tab, and when it fails, he racks it and clearly depresses the trigger as he’s supposed to, but then he still can’t release the slide. I don’t know what the issue is, but to me, it appears he knows what he’s doing. Not a fan of ATFE, but that’s just being fair.

Agreed. I did make a second post that admitted he followed the correct procedure. I just think he couldn't get enough purchase on the take down tabs to pull them down far enough to release the slide.

I’m no fan of the ATF. But, the take down tabs on a Glock can be difficult to operate. Especially if you have even slightly arthritic thumbs.

Nevertheless, an embarrassment and very bad optics for a supposedly “expert” on the subject.

Actually, Glocks are a bit tricky to field strip....if you don’t have a clue. First, you have to know the procedure, then have the hand/finger strength to do it. Becomes very simple if you have those prerequisites which you can learn from scratch in about 2 minutes.
