I knew a big, muscular man who worked as a nurse in a mental ward. There was a tiny woman who claimed she was Queen Elizabeth. He said, “Oh, Margarette, you know full well you aren’t Queen Elizabeth.” He said, “she laid me out on the floor with a haymaker, stood over me shaking her finger and said, ‘Don’t you ever contradict me again!’”
I’m sure this isn’t news, but crazy people are dangerous. If you contradict them, you are threatening the entire foundation of their existence. They will die rather than let that foundation be damaged. If it is damaged, the elaborate world they constructed to live in will suddenly vanish, leaving them frightened, alone and abandoned.
Thank you for an excellent anecdote. As we know, anecdotes collected are properly called "data."
I agree with your statement fully. ""...crazy people are dangerous."
Best wishes.
