UGA students baptized in pick-up trucks as Unite US movement travels across the nation

Thousands of attendees, mainly consisting of students, gathered at Stegeman Coliseum on April 3, 2024 for Unite Georgia, a free conference hosted by the organization Unite US, to hear speakers discuss current issues facing Gen Z and enjoy music from the band Lindy and the Circuit Riders, all while fulfilling the organization’s mission: to unite college students in the name of Jesus.

Unite US began when founder Tonya Prewett, retired educator, began a prayer group at Auburn University. The group grew from five girls to 200 students. In response to that growth, Prewett planned an event within six weeks with the intention to host a massive worship in which 5,000 students attended.

With the help of Josh Moran, former University of Georgia football player who is now a law student, UGA was next on their list.

“I love this community. I love this place. I love the people here, so for me [bringing Unite US to UGA] was a no-brainer,” Moran said. [snip]

“I went from hearing about God and learning about him to knowing him and having a spirit, and he was waiting for me the whole time,” Pokluda said. “It sounds so simple, but when you're so alone, that can be like a prison key unlocking you from a really dark cell. And God still to this day is with me.”

Thousands poured out of the arena headed toward the parking lot in front of the PhiGammaDelta fraternity house. The leaders of the event, Allen, Pokluda, Moran and many more, helped attendees into truck beds, which served as makeshift baptismals. People openly confessed their devotion saying that they were “giving their life fully to God.”

The night ended with the acapella singing of the old hymn “Amazing Grace” as attendees lifted their voices to sing.

And it’s going to be horrific beyond what we can imagine.

When we look at what’s going on in the world around us and see how bad its gotten and how fast, I can’t imagine it when the restraining work of the Holy Spirit is removed.

Yep, and sadly the blind who go through it will see all these miracles happen, like when the 2 witnesses do actual supernatural miracles, and will reject those miracles, but they will glom onto the fake miracles by the antichrist, and revere him as god. They will go to their graves rejecting God and Christ.

The arena is 60 years old and originally designed to accommodate livestock events and with a stage for live entertainment events. Both the stage and the livestock pens behind it appear to now be gone.

The End Times seem not to be determined by God but by Biden voters.

Stegman has gone through several renovations over the past twenty-five years or so with the latest being last year (I believe). I think the livestock pens were removed in the 2005 or maybe the 2010 renovations. A few years ago they had to close it because tiles were failing from the ceiling.

It now seats about 10,000 and many of UGA’s schools use it for graduation ceremonies as does both of the largest high schools in the county (Clarke County HS and Cedar Shoals HS).

It’s good to hear that it was used for a revival service and that the place was packed with students.
