They never mention what the crime was. Some bookeeping error by his accountant.

“David Pecker, a key witness in the Manhattan trial, testified that he agreed to execute “catch and kill” deals...”

Strange. Pecker testified that he had never heard of “catch and kill” until this trial.

That term is a pejorative cooked up by the prosecution for this trial and edited into supposed events.

IIRC the statute of limitations (best by) was way past. Butt, they ignore the law at our peril. Anyone? Bueller?

I didn’t read anything that the Democrats haven’t done for years and never been prosecuted for. Really, this isn’t a state issue at all, since it was a Federal election. I wonder if Bragg is going to arrest the congresspeople in NY that have used the Peoples money for ‘hush money’ cases next?

Where in the law is it written, “catch and kill” is a crime?

This is a jury trial. What is or is not technically illegal doesn’t mean anything unless the judge takes responsibility to instruct the jury on the issue. All these shady dealings might be just SOP, but they sound really bad when told in court.

Bragg isn’t willing to say that.

That’s really all anybody needs to know.

I only read the article to see how the left would try to counter all the articles saying that the trial isn’t going well for Bragg.

I was specifically looking for Pecker claiming some illegality done by Trump. There weren’t any.

I’m not a normie and have no clue how normies think, but I can’t help but wonder if a normie would look at all this and ask “What is the crime? This is politics as usual, every day in the media. What crime has Trump committed?”

Well said.

I’d like to see a meme where Alvin Bragg storms, “It is a CRIME for a candidate to try to influence an election!!”

Followed by some people doubled over with laughter.

What is the difference between “hush money” and “blackmail payoff”?

“catch and kill” was an invention of Bragg’s office - on the stand yesterday, Pecker said he’d never heard of the term before Bragg’s office began introducing it.

Why in the hell does Trump attach himself to pond scum like Cohen and Pecker? National enquirer? Surely he has better sense than this? What is wrong with him?

I now believe, that there is no crime - the point of the Bragg & State of New York vs. Donald Trump, “criminal trial,” is to create a foundation for “Donald Trump’s intent to criminally influence a national election.”

That, to be used repeatedly in the public eye, in addition to the federal case re the “classified documents” that President Trump kept at his home in Florida.

About David Pecker

David Pecker was lured away from his high-paying management job at Hachette Filipacchi in Europe, where he arranged for badly needed operating capital for JFK, Jr.’s *George* magazine.

JFK, Jr. was trying to build *George* as a going concern, in order to establish that he had more capability other than “just being a Kennedy.” JFK, Jr. was going to run for the U.S. Senate seat that Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D-NY) would leave (and Moynihan supported JFK, Jr. in that ambition).

Along came Hillary Clinton, seeking to evade prosecution when Bill Clinton would leave the White House, and Hillary decided that she wanted the Senate seat. (I remember watching her swear in to the Senate office, swearing that this “was not for purposes of evasion.”)

Friends of the Clinton camp - former Clinton Administration Deputy Secretary Treasurer Roger Altman, and Austin Beutner - were holding forth at Evercore Partners in New York City (along with other big money Democrat powers).

Evercore Partners hatched a plan to establish American Media, Inc. plus David Pecker, as a package that would appeal to David Pecker.

Thereby, removing David Pecker from control over some portion of Hachette Filipacchi flow of capital that was keeping JFK, Jr.’s *George* Magazine afloat.

Suddenly, JFK, Jr. had to scramble to try and find operating capital, and in the stress of the moment, his wife returned to using drugs.

A promising offer of cash from a Canadian investor (IIRC), fell through. That was followed by increasing strain in JFK, Jr.’s marriage.

Then came JFK, Jr.’s attempt to get his wife, and himself, away from all that mess for a moment . . . and the last airplane flight, too late in the evening, over Long Island Sound.

I hasten to add, that I also believe that David Pecker finally realized how he had been misled by Evercore Partners.

I suspect, that, was some of one or more sessions of Donald Trump and David Pecker comparing notes . . . and becoming friends.
