Friends
A little Springer Spaniel,
Who follows him around.
Speaks volumes of his nature,
No better judge is found.
When dogs like you, youre someone,
Not just an empty suit.
The love you give a faithful dog,
Will always bear you fruit.
If you like dogs that says a lot,
About the soul you bear.
But when the loves a two way street,
The partnership is fair.
The bond is strong and touching,
Between this man and friend.
God Bless George Bush and Spotty,
To them this poem I send.

I love it. It also says a lot about a guy who would notice and write a poem about it as well.
(ps-try a leaf blower on the keyboard if it get's too mushy!)

Barney is the dog in waiting and also in love with Dubya. Spotty is getting up in years. Freeper Wolfstar is the person who told CG that he needed to write about it. It kills me that as many times as I have watched them and felt so inspired, I kept it inside. Not I'm outed as a mushy dog lover.
Conspiracy Guy will have to live this down. I guess that's why David Flurry wrote this one.

Now, I am assuming that Conspiracy Guy and David Flurry are the same guy! It's cool to be soft and mushy, and still be a rough man. That is a great poem and I'm glad you wrote it.
Damn, I'm a 57 year old male, and I am owned by my cats ........and, I love dogs.

My 2 year old Labdradaniel (Lab/Spaniel Mix) LulaBelle has two step cats she shares the house with. She keeps em in line.
The name assumption is correct. I felt I needed to sign this one. 57? I'll be 50 in Jan.

Yes, I agree Spot is getting on in years. I hate to see that happen to a loyal Friend as a dog. My daughter just recently had to put her dog Zorro down, the day after Thanksgiving. It's really hard to do. My old cat was 17 years when I had to put him down. Heart breaking thing to have to do.
To: bentfeather

Lab mixes are great dogs! When the kids were growning up we had a black lab mixed with something. She was great with the kids and me. The kids dad was a hunter too, soooooo we had Coon Dogs. Many Coon Dogs. It was a popular thing to do in rural areas. He would run the dogs in Pot Chases too, Big deal a few years ago.
To: bentfeather
I love to hear a Redbone and a BlueTick or two on a coon trail. I haven't done that in years. Need to call some of my Coondog buddies and go.
LulaBelle is the daughter of an AKC Lab mom and a Springer Spaniel dad from a nice neighborhood. She looks mostly lab, chocolate, but with white blaze on her chest and white back toes. She is a blockhead, webbed footed, ottertailed, sweetheart.

I went out a few times hunting. I kinda like the sound of a Redbone too. We had some of those. My daughter owned one. Have you seen the movie "Where The Red Fern Grows"? It's about a boy and his Redbones. Real tear jerker.
To: bentfeather
Yep I saw it. If I ever get out of the suburbs and live in the woods again, I want a Red Bone. I will name him Leon Redbone and teach him to howl "Shine on Harvest Moon", we will be rich.

For the Barney Crowd.
Second Dog
Its tough to be the younger dog,
But he still does it great.
Hes always quick to chase the ball,
For playtime he s not late.
Hes short and fast and full of fun,
Yes hes a happy dog.
He lives there in the White House,
And hes a camra hog.
George W. is his best friend,
And Spotty likes him too.
This little guys named Barney,
And fans, he has a few.
