A ping is so simple that it is hard to explain. One punches "Post reply" after typing in the screen name of the person (or persons) he wishes to reach. He types *ping* and he may make a comment about the article that he is sending. One cannot ping and post the article for the first time simultaneously. He must first post the article, then *ping* the person(s) to be contacted. This explanation may be very confusing.
